What to Expect

Yonah Community Church is a church plant project of Concord Baptist Church. After more than 10 years of operating as a satellite campus, God led Concord’s leadership to shift its ministry expansion philosophy and empower this Cleveland fellowship to begin the process of planting as an autonomous church. This exciting journey is currently underway and will be completed by January 2026.

On a Sunday morning at YCC, you can expect a warm welcome from our Hello Team. As you arrive, feel free to grab a cup of coffee and make your way into our worship center.

During the service, you’ll engage in meaningful worship and prayer, followed by a biblically rich message delivered by one of our pastors, either in person or via livestream.

Church Plant Updates

In the spring of 2024, Concord received an offer from the owner of the property at 52 Helen Highway to purchase the land. After much prayer by both Concord Leadership and the Mt. Yonah Campus community, a unified consensus emerged: God was providing a unique opportunity—not only to secure the property but also to shift Concord’s Ministry Expansion philosophy toward church planting.

Following a season of prayerful discernment and counsel, the first major step was taken. In August 2024, Concord voted to form and commission the Ministry Expansion Team. This team -- comprised of the Concord Lead Staff Team, all pastoral staff, all committee heads, and all committee members from the Mt. Yonah Campus -- was entrusted with two primary responsibilities in regards to Mt. Yonah:
    1.    Overseeing and executing the purchase of 52 Helen Highway, Cleveland, Georgia.
    2.    Overseeing and executing the planting of the Mt. Yonah Campus as an autonomous church by January 2026.

Additionally, Concord voted to affirm the gifting of $250,000 from the Ministry Expansion Fund (formerly 777) as the primary downpayment for the property. (For more details on the purchasing agreement, please see our Capital Campaign section.)

The Ministry Expansion Team affirmed Campus Pastor Joseph Dockery as the official Church Plant Pastor to lead in this process. With guidance from Mt. Yonah Campus members, Concord Leadership, and CBA’s Director of Missions, Jojo Thomas, Joseph spent August through December seeking the Lord’s direction for the new church.

In January 2025, the Church Plant Vision was cast, and the Church Plant Identity was implemented—Yonah Community Church was born.
